Holy Grail Part 3 - Papa Moomin and the Lost Bottle Tops

 

This time we toured the Baltic's in search of anything. The following countries were explored - Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway

Lithuania

Marks out of 30 were 22.5

Main Points - Hot, Cheap, Sunny, No Crime, Lots of Bottle Tops, Cheap Breakfast, Lots to See, Friendly, Good English, Good Transport

Estonia

Marks out of 30 were 18

Main Points - Too many tourists, too many cobbles, was safe, expensive, nice mediaeval buildings, nice breakfast, friendly, coated almonds, good architecture, loads of bottle tops, too many stuff shops (all the same), weather hot (but got soaked on arrival)

Latvia

Marks out of 30 were 14

Main Points - Cooler, dodgy, transport good (apart from the bus breaking down), rained, hustle bustle, too many tourists, clean, beggars, good English, few bottle tops, less to see, good tour from the hotel map, good stuff shops, friendly, good breakfast

Russia

Marks out of 30 were 8

Main Points - Too many people, crap, hotel was a building site, loads of bottle tops, good breakfast, not friendly, skanking taxis, not safe, one hot day then rain, nice pancakes

Finland

Marks out of 30 were 21

Main Points - Weather OK, excellent breakfast, great hotel, modern city, mot much variety of bottle tops, not much architecture, very few stuff shops, expensive, MOOMINS!!!!, good English, friendly, laid back place

Sweden

Marks out of 30 were 18

Main Points - Expensive, nice old town, safe, good breakfast, hustle bustle, crap Chinese garden, good bottle tops, good stuff shops, very good English, good hotel, skanking Irish bars, fair weather, good ferry (Moomin pirate), queue for train tickets

Denmark

Marks out of 30 were 15

Main Points - Graffiti, good English, litter, like Amsterdam, expensive, dirty, lots of bottle tops, safe, no stuff shops, noisy hotel, not a lot to see, prostitutes, weather was ok, Carlsberg museum was good, hustle bustle

Norway

Marks out of 30 were 12

Main Points - Train journey picturesque (fjords the best bit), graffiti, dirty, stuff shops were ok, not much to see, Viking museum not very good, no Vikings!!, safe, fair hotel, very expensive, litter, good weather, hustle bustle
